Shark Trivia
Did You Know that the Spinner Shark (Carcharhinus brevipinna)….
….is named “spinner” because of the way it spins through schools of fish with its mouth open while feeding upon the bait fish? They spin out of the water at the end of the feeding run before falling back into the water.
….have narrow and pointed teeth to better help them keep a grip on the slippery fish in schools?
….often found off of coastal waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, is often confused with the Blacktip Shark because of similar black coloring on its fin tips?
