Did You Know that the beach terrorized by a Shark in the movie “Jaws”….
….was actually a fictional location called Amity Island that was located off the coast of New England? The island was known for its clean air, beautiful white sandy beaches, local fishermen, and a series of horrifying and fatal shark attacks.
The movie was actually mostly-filmed on set in Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. “Jaws” was also the first major motion picture to be shot on the ocean, which resulted in a troubled production that went over budget and past schedule.
