Shark Trivia
Did You Know that Sharks are Forever….
….per the “Sharks Forever” stamps unveiled by the United States Postal Service (USPS) in 2017 at the Newport Aquarium in Newport, Kentucky?
The USPS debuted the shark-pictorial stamps featuring fives species of shark found in U.S. waters: the Mako Shark, the Thresher Shark, the Great White Shark, the Hammerhead Shark, and the Whale Shark. Based on images captured by undersea photographers, the stamps were illustrated by Sam Weber of Brooklyn, New York.
The aim of the USPS was to raise awareness for conservation of the animals as they face ongoing threats from wildlife trafficking.
