Shark Trivia

Did You Know that Sharks come near Surfers….

.….more often than you think? Thanks to a lot more cameras including aerial footage from drones, images and videos of sharks are now captured much more often.

.….more often when surfing alone in shark-infested waters? When a predator tends to attack, it is often on an individual rather than groups.

.….often when there is a high density of sea lions, turtles, and fish nearby? Sharks can also confuse surfers with food when they see splashing resembling a prey in distress. Contrasting colors in surfboards, wetsuits, and shiny jewelry are also generally not considered a good idea. Surfing after it rains or in sewage-affected areas also carries a higher risk of being attacked.
