Shark Trivia
Did You Know that one of the first Scientists to study Sharks was Aristotle….
.….who detailed shark biology and ecology in a way rarely seen before the Renaissance in western civilization?
Aristotle (384–322 B.C.), the Greek philosopher and scientist, documented his knowledge by observation of the elasmobranch fishes (sharks and rays) in two of his extant works, the History of Animals and the Generation of Animals. The History of Animals describes a compilation of observations on animal anatomy, development, and behavior. The Generation of Animals describes animal reproduction and embryology.
