Shark Trivia
Did You Know that Sharks cannot swim Backwards….
.….and are the only fish species with limited capability to swim backwards? Sharks have pectoral fins which cannot curve upwards. This limits their capability with forward movement.
In the event a shark wishes to tilt backwards, it must use gravity to help it fall rearward.
Any backward movement by a shark lets water into its gills, which interferes with the respiratory process and could possibly lead to death.
